My Daughter's Dream Cake

Updated: Oct 23, 2020

I found this picture online and have become completely obsessed. It's a Flour Shop in NYC original. I have not recreated it yet..but I am going to make it happen sooner than later. This screams...work of art cake decorating at it's best! And...the candy inside..dream come true! If you live in NYC, then you can purchase this at The Flour Shop.

I don't think this is an impossible endeavor. I started researching colored cake mixes online and found Pillsbury Funfetti at Amazon. My market used to carry these, but have stopped. I can do this!! https://www.amazon.com/Pillsbury-Funfetti-Aqua-Cupcake-Ounce/dp/B00J78DD8W

If you're capable of using food coloring in your vanilla cake mix..then I imagine that will work too. It looks like you will need 5 tins, each using a singular cake packet, if you're using Pillsbury. If you're using a regular cake mix, I believe one mix will yield 2 tins. You'll need some kind of round took to scoop out the middle when the cake is finished and cooled off, so you'll be able to fill with candy.

“ Cakes are special. Every birthday, every celebration ends with something sweet, a cake, and people remember. It's all about the memories.”
"Like a lot of kids, I had a Superman cake or different theme cakes, but then I hit the age where I think my mom thought I was ready for the German chocolate cake that she makes for my dad. Just the sight of that, the taste of that frosting, just reminds me of being at home with my mom and my dad and my sister and my friends."

Desserts don't have to be difficult. You can create something beautiful and tasty by taking shortcuts! (#cake #dessert #dreamcake #food #goodstuff #tinahillloves #summer)
