Family Roadtrip

Updated: Oct 23, 2020

If you haven't experienced a lake vacation, you must put this on your to do list. This was an amazing family week in Meredith, NH.

Fiona is having a one of a kind relaxing lake vaca!
Chilling in a float on Lake Winnipesaukee

After many years of vacationing on Martha's Vineyard, I decided that we MUST do something different. We had never been to Lake Winnipesaukee, and I had it in my head that, "We were going to a lake!" There are a lot of choices of towns to stay in along the lake: Meredith, Wolfeboro, Moultonboro, Guilford, Alton, and Laconia (popular for bike week). It's worth it to look at at the area and decide what is best for your family's needs. For us, I had to have waterfront with dock property and some shopping for my girls. I picked Meredith based on what friends told me, and it was a good choice. Our house came with kayaks, a canoe, a dock, and we rented a boat for three days. We took advantage of boating, exploring, and tubing on this massive, WARM lake. We docked at Town Docks Restaurant for lunch and took in the few shops in the area. We had dinner at a few restaurants in Meredith including Giuseppe's Pizzeria, which had good Italian cuisine and Camp Bar and Restaurant, whose atmosphere was amazing...moosehead on the wall and all! We had breakfast at the Waterfall Cafe..kids had their pancakes and everyone was happy.

Up the road from Town Docks, I got super lucky at Consignor's Avenue, where I found a brand new Anthropologie (tags on) jump suit. That same killer jumpsuit is currently selling on Poshmark for $140! I done good! Definitely stop in if you're in the area. http://consignorsavenue.com/ #MaeveblackFinleypolkadot #jumpsuit

We took full advantage of our surroundings and became one with nature. We climbed Mount Major (views left us speechless), kayaked daily, went ziplining at Gunstock, toured and hiked Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough, and boated over to Wolfeboro for an afternoon of lunch and shopping. There is a lot to do to keep an entire family busy for the week! (https://www.castleintheclouds.org/)

I know that a lot of people are going with Airbnb, but I've always booked with www.vrbo.com.
